Why so much shock over Tiller’s death?

Posted by Raven on June 1st, 2009

Obama says:

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama says he is shocked and outraged over the killing of an abortion provider at a Kansas church.

Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed Sunday morning while he was serving as an usher at a church in Wichita, Kan. The White House released a statement from the president Sunday evening.

Obama says violence is not the answer to resolve differing opinions on abortion and said the shooting is a murder. Tiller was one of the nation’s few providers of late-term abortions. He was the object of decades of protests and attacks.

Okay Mr. Shocked and Awed I have a question. Does this photo shock you? Does it bring out any outrage? Does it not come under the description of hideous? Does it matter that babies have been killed for decades at the hands of Mr. Tiller?

Tiller’s murder was wrong. I am not a religious person, in fact I believe the God so many people pray to is a cruel being. But let’s be shocked at ALL the murders associated with this man. Let’s respect that a great many people believe abortion, esp late term abortion, is wrong and is legalized murder.

The picture with this post should be required viewing for every school child age 12 and older. What a beautiful argument that “late-term abortion” is simply Newspeak for “murder.”

I am finding it very difficult to type with the tears clouding my eyes. While I realize that the choice of abortion is possibly the most grave decision any young, pregnant woman may have to make, who cannot be moved by this depiction of savage brutality.

May God bless that little lifeless creature’s soul and may it find eternal peace in whatever herafter may be.

I cannot think of the act of abortion with any degree of equanimity as I did before. May Obama and their ilk be cursed with images like this for the rest of their days.

The larger question is why the state of Kansas permits viable infants to be murdered in utero or in partial birth abortions at the whim of the mother. Since when did cystic fibrosis become a capital offense? (warning: graphic and heart-wrenching link)

Is this the other side of “designer babies” – treating babies like consumer goods, to be thrown in the garbage if they aren’t “perfect”? We know where this path leads – Nazi Germany or North Korea when government murders millions of government-declared deviants.

Yes, we need to stand for the rule of law. But when government violates its solemn duties, the ethical imperatives become very agonizing.
