Obama added to Mt. Rushmore (sort of)

Posted by Bigfoot on July 8th, 2009

A few months back, I posted two videos from The Nose On Your Face, that humorously depicted Teh OneTM carved onto Mt. Rushmore, talking with Honest Abe, Teddy the Rough Rider, Tom of the Declaration, and the Original George W. Yesterday morning, life imitated art, as activists connected with Greenpeace unfurled a 65-foot by 35-foot banner, just to the right of the carving of Lincoln.

Patriotic tourists visiting the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota on Wednesday found a fifth face displayed — and not as a compliment — next to the giant stone carvings of four legendary presidents.

A group of environmental activists connected with Greenpeace unfurled an enormous banner showing President Obama’s face and calling for an end to global warming.

Thankfully, they didn’t carve an image of Obama into the mountain, as jokingly suggested by videos. But the irony of environmental activists possibly causing damage to a mountain, and thus to the environment, is readily apparent.

  1. LomaAlta Says:

That idiot, Janet Napolitano, Sec. of DHS, can call returning veterans potential terrorists but can’t see a thing wrong with Greenpeace.

Incidentally, Greenpeace activists are, like all bullies cowards. Greenpeace activists protested the French nuclear tests in the south Pacific a few years ago and then ran like cowards back into Auckland Harbor in New Zealand. French agents blew up their boat, Rainbow Warrior, in Auckland Harbor. Since then Greenpeace finds it better to harass the peaceful Japanese and Icelanders whalers but gives the Russians a pass. By the way, Greenpeace gives France a pass too. And China, and Iran, and …

This behavior is typical of the cowards and phonies of the Left.

  2. Duncan Says:

They couldn’t be more of a parody of the typical “activist” group if they tried any harder… :liberal:

  3. Reaganite Republican Says:

Chairman O stated that the average American would not bear the brunt of this historic tax-increase, claiming instead that: “It is paid for by the polluters who currently emit dangerous carbon emissions.”

Just compare this blatant falsehood to Ronald Reagans’ timeless wisdom:

“The most dangerous myth is the demagoguery that business can be made to pay a larger share, thus relieving the individual. Politicians preaching this are either deliberately dishonest, or economically illiterate, and either one should scare us.

…Only people pay taxes, and people pay as consumers every tax that is assessed against a business.”

And after the way they rammed this stuff through the House with little debate, without legislators even reading it… and while quarantining the GOP from any meaningful input whatsoever, any foolhardy individuals who still believe Obama’s threadbare “bipartisanship” spiel ought to have their head examined.
