Some Stories and Links

Posted by Bigfoot on August 26th, 2009

Today’s top story would have to be the death of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, at age 77, from the brain cancer that he had been fighting for over a year. Kennedy was known as the Lion of the Senate, by the knickname “Ted”, and also by a few things I won’t repeat, but as Rightwing Nuthouse points out, there’s no doubting his impact on history. He might even have some posthumous impact, as Democrats find a rallying cry for their socialized medicine health care reform. While we on the right have certainly had our share of disagreements with the man from Massachusetts, The Tygrrrr Express gives him credit for standing up for an often-ridiculed Republican. The Boston Globe presents a timeline of Kennedy’s life.

From Right Wing News, some Republicans respond to the Obama administration’s intented investigation of the CIA for its interrogations of terrorists. Here’s a small excerpt, from Lamar Alexander:

Shouldn’t we also ask Attorney General Holder about seventy instances before 9/11 in which the United States sent terrorist detainees to other countries for interrogation? Most of these renditions took place during the Clinton years when Mr. Holder himself was deputy attorney general.

The Colorado Democrat Headquarters in Denver has been vandalized. The culprit appears to be a leftwing activist.

From The American Thinker, Randall Hoven writes about his “Global Warming Epiphany”.

From Isreal National News, researchers in Israel have created a successful heart patch.

Yikes, a man bursts into flames after being TASERed. Can’t blame the cops too much, though, since he had been sniffing flammable vapors from a chemical cleaner, in an attempt to “get high”.

Carowinds amusement park has announced plans to build a new roller coaster in honor of Dale Earnhart.

And to conclude on a lighter “note”, so to speak, I tawt I taw a putty tat – playing the piano?

The death of the Admiral of Chappaquiddick will be used by the Dems to push even harder for ObamaKare. The Dems will want to add one more thing to Teddy’s “legacy.” eergh

  2. Carlos Says:

No comment here on “The Swimmer.”

re: Holder and renditions. It’s significantly different when jackasses do what they accuse Republicans of because, you see, they do those “illegal” things in lovingkindness. Makes all the difference in a nuanced society. Not to the detainees, understand, just to those allowing such heinous activities. Like Holder.

re: Global Warming. One of the best “language even a fifth grader can understand” explanations I’ve seen yet. No wonder envirowhackos can’t understand it.

Actually, Algore and his pukey ilk can because their movement has nothing to do with global warming, only instituting worldwide fascism, doing what the little Austrian nut couldn’t do 70 years ago. And with the help of the modern-day rendition of that fascist, he’ll come a lot closer to succeeding.
