“most people back home dont even know, no one gives a s—” – excerpt from an email from a deployed soldier.
We “beat back” the insurgents, so we won that battle. But the fact that they, more or less, kicked us out of the base, to the point that our guys had to abandon every personal item, probably because there was no time to properly pack, tells that this does not bode well for the war. But like I’ve said, our commander in chief, along with the Democratic Party, have already accepted defeat…. they just need to push this along until 2010 to ensure reelection… then they can pull out with an “honorable withdrawal”….. much like January 1973….
That excerpt from the soldier’s email, reminds me of this:

Except that I’d say that the boss was also at the mall….
One other note.. if you think the Speaker of the House is for us doing what it takes to win… just watch her eyes in this video, after Senator Reid speaks, at around 0:14… quite telling..

I still remember President Nixon talking about “peace with honor”. As it turned out, the Viet commies never honored their end of the agreement. You can bet that the Taliban, AQ, etc., aren’t interesting in any honor between themselves and us.

To be sure Bigfoot. To be sure. AQ and the Taliban have no interest in honor.
Another disturbing trend with this administration..
New White House spin: Taliban not really an enemy, has role in Afghanistan’s future

you guys do know that the Taliban and AQ are different groups right? You also know that we supported the mujahideen in 80’s, right? In fact I think it was everyone’s hero, Regan, that had one of the biggest roles in supporting the mujahideen.
The right does it again! woot!

Obama is headed for the mall in Stockholm for a burger after picking up the Nobel Peace Prize.
We’ll see how peaceful the world is after a couple more months of Obama’s naive and thoughtless Afghan/Iran/economic policies. Obama will really head to the mall then.

Apple.
Errrr. Yeah. We did support the mujahideen against the Soviets in the 80s. Your point? Once the Soviets withdrew, are you saying that we were supposed to go in there and rebuild their country for them, something I doubt you currently support doing now?
And you do realize that the Taleban and AQ are different groups with similar agendas, one on a national scale, the other on an international scale? Must be that
nuancelearning disability that the left has…October 9th, 2009 at 5:03 pm
If by rebuild their country (I assume you mean Afghanistan, the mujahedeen are not a single national force, they’re a multi-national collective with a common goal. Look up the term “Afghan Arab”) you mean “nation building”; yes I am very much for that. US companies have done much more to spread American influence then the armed forces ever have (no one likes to get bombed when they could be drinking a coke). The Taliban know this, which is why any effort by the US to rebuild schools or industry is meant by a HUGH AQ offensive.
The Taliban and AQ have similar agendas only so far as they both resist foreign influence. Just because they are brown and have a different religion then you doesn’t mean they are all the same.

The Taliban supported Obama/oops Osama Bin Laden. Nuff said.
The Taliban execute women who have sex outside of marriage. They deny education to young girls. They stone men to death who are gay. It totally figures the liberals of the US stand side by side with the Tallies. Yep. Makes perfect sense.
