Ungrateful Bastards

Published by Raven at 11:59 am under Current Events

I remember a few years ago the Malden Mills fire in Lawrence MA. This company makes Polarflece. After the building burned, the owner kept all the employees on a payroll and paid them while the building was rebuilt. This took almost a year. What a generous owner. None of the employees had to get another job; all their insurances were also paid for. I recall thinking-this is awesome and unprecedented.

Move along to today. The company ended up filing for bankruptcy because it lost so much money-when it kept all the employees on while there was no work, no orders to fill. The company came out of bankruptcy last year after re-structuring. NOW, the employees are unionized and are demanding a strike because–their health insurance premiums are going to triple! The premiums are going to go from a whopping $6.00/week to an unreasonable 18.00/week. This is criminal- this increase is just going to bankrupt these poor employees.
YEAH right. They are ungrateful scums who should be canned. If the union gets it way, Malden Mills may have to close shop and move it’s operations overseas. Thanks alot, UNION.

The factory has a new CEO as the other guy retired last year as well. Times change;one of their biggest customers was LL BEAN-but they lost the contract while rebuilding. The union came in at about this same time, and the place has never been the same. I don’t even know if they have any big name customers now.

Re:Air france plane crash in toronto.everybody survived.309 people.Sarah Green of the Toronto Sun report’s that passenger’s(article doe’s not specify how many)have filed a 325million dollar class action lawsuit against Air France,Greater Toronto Airport’s Authority andNAV Canada.Apparently some of these people had to wait up to an hour in the rain before they were taken to hospital’s or hotel’s.Maybe they would rather, that they had stayed inside the nice warm airplane.
