Now that’s what I’d call a strong woman. Considering how backward Saudi laws are, I’d say that the virtue police, known as the hai’a, have been asking for something like this for a long time. However, my urge to celebrate this woman’s actions is tempered by the sad fact that she could face some severe punishment.

Should the woman be charged, she could face a lengthy prison term and lashings for assaulting a representative of a government institution.

How backward are Saudi Arabia’s laws concerning women?

Saudi law does not permit women to be in public spaces without a male guardian. Women are not allowed to drive, inherit, divorce or gain custody of children, and cannot socialize with unrelated men.

That male guardian would have to be her husband or a blood relative, I would surmise. It’s hard to imagine a society where an entire sex is restricted in a way analogous to how we restrict anyone under 18 who wishes to view an R-rated movie. Except that it’s not a movie, but the reality that Saudi women face, 24/7.

Here is the sad part. Audi is really slamming the eco-movement in this country, and especially its influence on our government. And it is a bout time some other car company pushed another TDI onto the market as opposed to leaving Volkswagen as the only company with a viable product here in the States.

Using models developed to calculate the effects of more plausible pandemics, the team from the University of Ottawa have discovered that unless man struck back quickly and aggressively then they would be doomed.

The scientific paper, which is published in a book “Infectious Diseases Modelling Research Progress”, looks at an attack by the undead creatures, who infect the living with a bite.

In their study, titled When Zombies Attack!, the researchers picked “classic” slow-moving zombies such as those in Dawn of the Dead as models and divided humanity into three: the living, zombies and the “removed” – zombies who had been killed by decapitation.

They concluded there was no point trying to cure those infected or live with them – the best thing was to destroy them as quickly as possible.

“A zombie outbreak is likely to lead to the collapse of civilisation, unless it is dealt with quickly,” they write in the book.

Which is why I’m getting prepared. All this talk of Obama and his minions pales in comparison with our eventual doom to the undead!
