In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.

"We'd follow you to Hell, sir, but you damned sure didn't go that direction."
First of all, its is the beginning of what is going to be my five day weekend, which means I’m gonna get hammered with my “Honey-Do” list that I’ve been neglecting. Starting off is painting the hallway and the living room. But, as I am a master procrastinator, I am going to publish some Friday Morning links that I found interesting….
First off:
Jake Tapper and ABC News are realizing that the honeymoon is over and the Obama Administration is releasing its own version of events, sans reporters. Sounds a little like “state-run media” to me, something tin-pot dictators of banana republics do. After carrying the President all election year, you’d think he’d give them the decency of a reach-around… to quote the gunny from Full Metal Jacket… yeah, I know its crude… but the analogy fits..
Apparently the GPS system that the world relies on for navigation, from regular shmoes in their car with their TomTom, to commercial airliners and then to GPS-guided munitions, is teetering on collapse. As far as the aviation world is concerned, there has been talk of going away from terrestial-based navigation aids which cost $$$$ to run and maintain when there is such an accurate way to navigate through the GPS system. I’ve wondered what would happen if they were to do that. And now with the system about to fail, or experience failures (or be jammed/disrupted by our enemies in a time of war), I don’t think it wise to put our eggs all in one basket…
USA to lose its AAA rating. “Hope and Change You Can Believe In™” indeed… Luckily the President and his administration realize that the 700 billion TARP monies are not available to failing/bankrupt states who can’t balance their budget or cut spending to their plethora of welfare/social programs… ofcourse, the article goes on to say that Secretary Geithner will “work” with Congress to try and use taxpayer dollars to help states who can’t be fiscally sound in their spending… awesome… I get to bail out California and others….
NEW YORK — Jennifer Aniston recently bared her soul to “Vogue” magazine, but now pics of the former “Friends” sensation baring her bod could be illegally making their way onto millions of men’s computers as a 2009 Desktop Calendar.
While seeing pictures of the wholesome, fresh-faced Aniston in the calendar are bound to make the work day a little easier, come November next year we doubt too many guys will be focusing on their task at hand. That month features the upcoming “Marley & Me” starlet bra-free beneath a stream of running water.
Now she is very… very… very… yummy… Brad Pitt was a fool to drop her for that trashy Angelina Jolie tramp. That being said, I’m probably not going to run over and download those desktop calenders of Ms. Aniston. Now I would not want to be a lawbreaker.. nooo. Not going to do…it…won’t…click..on..the…..link… er…
And in the spirit of the season, I want don’t want to leave Raven out with pictures of hot men this Christmas season..
One of the Marines charged with dereliction of duty has been found not guilty of all charges.
For the record, he is a REAL HERO and everyone should strive to be like him.
Stand up for the right thing. Even when doing so will make you unpopular.
The long, painful ordeal of Marine 1st Lt. Andrew Grayson came to a sudden end Wednesday when a jury of seven fellow Marine officers found him not guilty of trumped-up charges that should never have been leveled against him in the first place.
As Newsmax reported on Sept. 11, 2007, Grayson earned the enmity of prosecutors when he turned down their offer that would spare him from prison if he would agree to testify against fellow 3rd battalion, 1st Marines.
“I was asked by the prosecution to fall on my sword for the greater good of the Marine Corps,” Grayson, 26, recalled. “The prosecution wanted me to distort the truth to fit their end goal.”
The greater good of the Marine Corps has been served well by 1st Lt Grayson. He did the right thing in spite of the pressures he received from those above him, who were seeking the wrong thing.
Another perfect example of Semper Fi.
Too bad the brass of the Marine Corps no longer understands these two words.
May 7, 2008: The U.S. Marine Corps has had more success than expected in attracting recruits, and has moved up the date for completing their current expansion. Last year, Congress ordered the marines to expand their strength from the current 181,000 to 202,000. At first, the marines thought it would take them four years to do it. But between the large number of recruits, and the many current marines who are staying in, the expansion will be accomplished by next year.
And this (catching up with the USMC Google Email Alerts, LOL):
It starts on the yellow footprints at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.
That’s where all new recruits learn the basic stance of attention.
Before moving into the contraband room, where a recruit’s personal belongings are taken.
And on to the barbers seat, they come in as individuals come out looking the same.
“They’re pretty much all carrying the same stuff, they all kind of look the same, they’ve all got the same haircut and we just try to take away that individualism,” Sgt. Murch.
“The basic human instinct is me, me first, that doesn’t work in a military environment and especially the Marine Corps, it just doesn’t work. We have a place to put the manners and respect, self discipline, the honor, and the pride and all those things they came to us to get,” said Drill Instructor Johnson.
Here is proof of that. In the Chicago Sun-time March 21, 2008. Brian Troy of Rockford IL, a Marine in the 1980’s. suffered several heart attacks before receiving a new heart in 2006. He didn’t know who the donor was but felt it was a Marine.
Eventually he found out the heart was from Ricky Martinez who was shot on April 26, 2006 while driving home from a Cubs game with friends. Martinez had signed up after 9/11 and served 2 tours in Iraq.
