Pantano Seeking Congress Term

Posted by Raven on 30th January 2010

Former Marine Ilario Pantano is BACK! This time not as a Marine, but as a candidate for US Congress. Pantano was accused of killing Iraqi’s but was acquitted. He was doing his job. And now he’s going to seek a new job.

A former stock broker, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Deputy and Marine is trying his hand at a new profession. Ilario Pantano wants the Republican nomination for the 7th Congressional District.

Pantano served in three wars, and in 2004 shot two men in Iraq. He was accused of murder, but all charges against him were dropped a year later.

This is Pantano’s first run for public office. He says his experiences tested his character, and make him an ideal candidate.

Good Luck Mr. Pantano!

Descent into the Maelstrom-I: Now it’s TV talk show hosts joking about statutory* rape of politicans’ daughters

Posted by civil truth on 11th June 2009

[*Newsflash: Dave Letterman last night (6/10) claims he wasn't making jokes about statutory rape, merely jokes about rape...and he's totally down with that.
Excuse me, I need to throw up...
Commentary to follow in a separate post...]

The recent campaign of misogyny by men from the left to dehumanize and subjugate conservative women who speak out in public continues to spiral ever downward to new and unprecedented depths of depravity. In the past week, we have now reached the pit of public rape fantasies.

But first, let’s go back to August 2008.

The press reviews are in: President Palin’s First 100 Days

Posted by civil truth on 15th May 2009

David Hansen at NRO has painstakingly surveyed the movers and shakers of today’s media to give us a roundup of the start to our new queen’s reign. And it’s not a pretty picture folks, not pretty at all. Here’s the first review:

LET THEM EAT MOOSE
“Ted Stevens may have gotten off,” wrote Bob Herbert in the New York Times, “but he taught our Sarah something first — like using $100-a-pound beef for her state dinners. And what’s this $50 mil for her inauguration gala? Since when do you fly in your favorite pizza-maker from across the country on our dime? Or send the presidential 747 for a spin over the Big Apple for a third-of-a-million-dollar joyride? Does Palin think she’s still in Alaska and has to have everything flown in from the South 48 by jumbo jet?”

Read the rest here. But do put down that coffee mug first. (H/T)

OH THE HORROR!!!

Posted by Duncan on 21st November 2008

From the lunatics at the Huffing(Glue) Post:

Some videos you just have to see to believe. On Thursday, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin appeared in Wasilla in order to pardon a local turkey in anticipation of Thanksgiving. This proved to be a slightly absurd but ultimately unremarkable event. But what came next was positively surreal. After the pardon Palin proceeded to do an interview with a local TV station while the turkeys were being SLAUGHTERED in the background!! Seemingly oblivious to the gruesomeness going on over her shoulder, she carries on talking for over three minutes. Watch the video below to see for yourself. Be warned, it’s kind of gruesome.

Oh yes. It was truly HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE I SAY! MY EYES! OH MY EYES!

One of Ann Althouse’s commenters

says:

I was expecting blood and guts flying across the screen, Sarah chasing the hapless birds around the pen wearing a hockey mask and wielding a chain saw. But it didn’t happen. The video is mildly amusing but no big deal.

Althouse pretty much sums it up:

Deal with it, you candy-asses. If you eat meat, something like that is going on in the background for you too.

When they try to attack Sarah Palin on such ridiculousness, it truly makes them look petty and insignificant…

A Matter of Honor: John McCain’s Hour of Decision

Posted by civil truth on 11th November 2008

From today’s Wall Street Journal editorial:

McCain Owes Sarah Some Straight Talk

Where’s John McCain’s honor when we need it?
We’ll find out tonight, when the Arizona Republican appears on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno. In the week since the election, Mr. McCain’s campaign team has leaked some nasty stuff about Sarah Palin. These leaks are personal, and they speak more to the character of Mr. McCain and the leakers than they do to Mrs. Palin. So it will be telling if Mr. McCain stands up for his partner and says how offended he has been by what some of his staffers have done to her.

Trashin Palin…. by McCain aides…

Posted by Duncan on 6th November 2008

Trashing her now so that she won’t be a viable candidate in 2012 perhaps? I wonder who these unnamed aides are. My wife and I watched Carl Cameron’s report and our jaw dropped at the pettiness being displayed at these “scandalous reports” about her. Sorry, but I seriously doubt that Sarah Palin didn’t realize the Africa was a continent and not a country of itself. Ofcourse, that fits into the “dumb Alaskan redneck hickjick who likes guns and is a former backwater beauty queen” narrative quite nicely.

Hot Air:

To believe it, you have to believe she figured out a way to become governor of Alaska while somehow lacking the mental power to piece together which three nations might be involved in the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Michelle Malkin:

SNL Palin Rap (Repost)

Posted by Bigfoot on 27th October 2008

I made a post with this video a few days ago, but it disappeared in the confusion as we migrated over to Dreamhost. However, with the correct words plugged into Google, I’ve been able to retrieve it. As I said in the original post, I haven’t been much of a fan of Saturday Night Live since the days of Eddie Murphy and Joe Piscopo, and I’ve never been a fan of rap, but I still enjoyed this:

I’m confident this is how the media would report if this event actually occurred

Posted by civil truth on 25th October 2008

This fictional tale apparently is making the e-mail rounds, though it hasn’t reached my inbox. I’ve done some editing of my own to the story. (H/T)

On a trip to Europe to meet world leaders, Sarah Palin’s meets with the Pope, who invites her for a boat ride up the Tiber river. As the two converse, a sudden wind gust catches the Pope’s mitre and blows it off his head into the river.

Realizing that no one is going to do anything about it, Sarah calmly rises, takes off her her high heels, and steps off the side of the boat. Instead of diving into the water, however, she walks across the water to the hat, calmly picks it up, and walks back across the water to the boat. She climbs in, hands the Pope his head covering, and picks up the conversation where they had left off without any reference to what had just transpired, as the accompanying U.S. and Vatican officials look on in open-mouthed astonishment at what they have just seen.

Meanwhile, reporters from news media who had been accompanying the meeting in nearby boats began to discuss among themselves how to report this event. As a result, the front page headlines the next morning at the New York Times, The Washington Post, and the major news networks all blared the following:

New Scandal Hits McCain campaign: Sarah Palin Can’t Swim

With Sarah Palin, It’s all about JOY – Message to the McCain campaign

Posted by civil truth on 29th September 2008

Joy is Sarah’s pearl beyond price; we must not sell it for fool’s gold
New wine needs new wineskins

It’s urgently time to remember what it was that swept America off their feet when they first met Sarah. What above everything else was it that represented her great attraction?

Suddenly the answer stirred deep inside me: that great attraction is Sarah’s infectious JOY that just gushes out of her everywhere she goes.

This is what distinguishes here from almost every other politician today, and what so deeply touched the heart of America and draws people.

That and her endearing feistiness that enabled her to put down the old-boy network in Alaska with a smile.

Unfortunately, the intense, unprecedented hatred and calumny that she evoked has produced a spirit of fear in the McCain team – and their infecting her with a terror of making mistakes is the classic recipe for disaster, making her tight and causing her to question her competence and ability, eating away at her self confidence.

We’re seeing the signs of impending collapse – this needs to change now or we will have destroyed a key player for this election and for to our party’s future.

In the McCain in the end has to make the sale; he’s the candidate for President.

However, Sarah has been given an incredible opportunity in this campaign, one that is almost unique in the annals of presidential politics.

Specifically, what Sarah’s calling in this campaign is and will be is to open up hearts of American to give McCain a fair listen, which they weren’t open to before Sarah came on the scene. She can turn the hearts of people who otherwise would never have considered voting for a Republican, for someone like John McCain, and gain him an audience.

This is the jewel you got with her; that’s what you got to go with.

And to do that, you have to let her be her own maverick – and that means that she isn’t always going to echo McCain – indeed for her to be on a tight leash would be false to Sarah’s character.

And what will destroy Sarah in the eyes of the American people will be if they perceive her as false.

And destroy her not just this election, but forever. And that is a loss that our nation cannot afford.

Enquirer Gains Smidgen of Credibility with Edwards Affair Investigation

Posted by Duncan on 25th September 2008

and then does everything they can to piss it completely away.

The National Enquirer is still flogging the Palin had an affair story. No I’m not linking it, look it up. They can, apparently, as they have someone on the record. Someone on the “inside,” I guess??

However, Hanson family insider, Jim Burdett, has gone on the record and passed a rigorous polygraph test, revealing details of the affair to The NATIONAL ENQUIRER in a world exclusive interview.

Burdett is a former brother-in-law of Hanson’s estranged wife Carolyn’s brother, Craig Batton, and still speaks with many family members.

I have to write this out to connect the dots – Palin to alleged paramour, to alleged paramour’s estranged wife, to alleged paramour’s estranged wife’s brother, to alleged paramour’s estranged wife’s brother’s wife, to alleged paramour’s estranged wife’s brother’s wife’s sister, to alleged paramour’s estranged wife’s brother’s wife’s sister’s brother? (former husband?) Hell, I’m not even sure that’s it.

Yikes. That is some stretching there. Infact, stretched so far as to be transparent… ofcourse, the rabid anti-Palin types will eat it, hook, line and sinker…
